Hi, I've been looking at a lot of posts here and was hoping some of you might be able to help me out. I live in Alaska and am shopping the Washington state are, specifically Seattle "area" for a Kubota dealer with a good reputation and reasonable prices. I am looking at buying a bx1500 with an FEL and MMM. What kind of mowing experiences are any of you having with the MMM on this tractor? How is the FEL on this tractor and how does it interfer with the MMM and vice versa. Thanks for any input!

We have many customers that mow with both the loader and deck on. They can be removed within five easy minutes or reinstalled. ....

I lived in Anchorage for 21 years. Were we neighbors?
First thought: Washington has sales tax. If it is still a hassle to get an exempt sale you might look at Portland instead.
Here is what worked for me. I went to the Kubota web site and plugged in a Portland zip code into the dealer locater.
Then I started calling for prices and availability. I would use the other zip codes I got from the dealer addresses to leap-frog around the area. After about an hour you will get a real good notion of who has what and what it's going to cost.
Unless things have changed up there in the last couple of years, you might find it will cost the same to buy up there when you consider the added shipping. Alaska merchants are pretty cagey. They know what things cost Outside, they know the shipping rates and rig their prices accordingly.

I love my BX1500. It's as strong as an ox and runs very smooth at anything above an idle. It mows very nicely, and quickly too. The hydro is great for manuverablity. I don't have an FEL, but the 3-point is very strong. It can easily pick up the front end. (I know, I did it with an overloaded rear dirt scoop. oops!) The 4WD is simply indispensable. Absolutely no complaints as long as you use it within its designed capabilities. Some complain about size and power, but I would argue that they are expecting more than it was designed for. It's perfect for doing chores on a few acres of land.

On my BX1500 I got the 54" deck and it works excellant along with the FEL. I've done several hours of digging out a drainage ditch with no problems at all. As for the interferance question, due to the ease of taking off the FEL and MMM I just take off wich one I'm not using at the time, I can change either one in less than two minutes. If they made it any easier I'm afraid my wife would start doing all the outside work and I wouldn't get to enjoy my tracter. ....

Ditto on everything said here so far. I have the 54" deck for my 2230 and it mows great. I choose not to mow with the FEL attached because of the weight on the front tires creating ruts in the lawn. It is so silly-easy to remove, so why not. You will love your BX. ....

You can't go wrong with the BX but all things considered for the few extra bucks go for the 2230 and get the bigger engine- you won't regret it especially if you plan on keeping it a while and doing loader work. Tractors are like motorcycles- after you buy it and get used to it you wish you bought the bigger one. The 1500 is a terrific machine but the 2230 (or a leftover 2200 if you can find one) has a little more kick and in my opinion and many other's is worht the extra few bucks. It's all opinion but I am much happier with my bx2200's power over my old 17 hp. Big difference. ....
